FAQ
So much information goes into sessions. Not only to prepare you and the littles but myself as well! Here are some common questions that I get asked as a baby photographer that I hope you find helpful.
How long do sessions last?

How much are sessions?
Baby Steps has multiple package options! These are located on my investment page in the menu. Installment payments are available.
When is the right time to book?
For expecting mother's and father's I recommend booking your newborn package around the end of your second trimester to the beginning of your third. But it's never to late or to early!
Milestone sessions can be booked any time during your little one's first year. I highly recommend tummy time around 4 month and sitter sessions whenever baby becomes a strong independent sitter. If you are wanting photos back by a certain date be sure to book 3-4 weeks prior to that date to allow for session and editing time.
How do I book?
Once you are ready to book, simply head on over to the contact tab and fill out the contact form. Once you have done so, you will receive an email with more information on what's next.
When and where will my newborn session take place?
After you are booked your due date goes into the calendar to hold your approximate session date. After your little bundle of joy is in your arms, I ask that you notify me within 48 hours so I can get you an official date and time for your session.
Do I get to choose what props are used?
Yes! If you have any requests for a specific prop you have seen in my work just let me know. I use custom questionnaire's to learn more about your likes and wants so I can be sure to use setups that you love. Questionnaires are sent out after you fill out the contact from under the contact tab.
What if someone in the immediate family gets sick?
If you or any of your loved ones are feeling under the weather less than 24 hours prior to your shoot I ask that you notify me as soon as possible so we can get you rescheduled. My biggest concern is keeping me and all my little clients healthy.
What happens at a photoshoot?
Lots! Well for me, haha. But for parents I hope that you get to sit back and watch the show. I will spend all of our time soothing, posing, and perfecting minor details that overall impact images in a big way. Babies make up the rules but awake or asleep, I capture all the adorable details.
So the shoot is over, now what?
Once the session is over, about a week following your session you will receive an email with your proofing gallery. From there you will be able to select which images you would like to come with your package. Each package comes with a set number and can be seen over at the investment tab. ;)
What is this proofing gallery you speak of?
Proofing galleries are online galleries hosted by Baby Steps with the very best from your little one's session. This is where you will select the images that come with your session package. On average proofing galleries approximately 2-3x the amount of photos that your session package comes with but will overall vary every session. The photos in these galleries are not finished works of art at this point in the process and only have slight corrections. Full editing is to come once photos are selected. Unselected photos will be promptly deleted. You will only receive the amount of photos your packages comes with unless you wish to purchase additional images. Unedited images don not come with your package nor are they available for purchase.
How many images do I get and what's next after I'm done selecting from my proofing gallery?
Your final gallery will consist of only the amount images your package comes with(shown in my investment page). Unedited photos do NOT come with packages nor are they available for purchase. After you are done selecting images, just reach out to let me know and I will get to work on the edits that will result in your beautiful final gallery. Editing takes up to 3 weeks but may be shorter or longer varying on final gallery size. After editing is complete you will receive an email containing a new link with your finished gallery. Your final gallery will remain active for 30 days before being deleted to make space for new sessions. Please be sure to download your photos and back them up! :)
